Privacy Policy

Outdoorsdle (“we”, “us”) is a daily guessing game available at www.outdoorsdle.com. We collect as little personal information as possible: you can play every game without an account, and nothing about your play leaves your device unless you create one.

What we collect

Playing as a guest

Your guesses, results, streaks and badges are stored in your browser’s local storage, on your device. We do not receive this data. Clearing your browser data erases it.

Camp accounts (optional)

If you create an account, we store through our authentication provider:

• your email address;
• a password (stored as a secure hash — we never see the plain text), or, if you sign in with Google, the name and email address Google shares with us;
• the optional camp name you choose;
• your game results, once account sync is available, so your streaks follow you across devices.

Technical data

Like every website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and debugging.

Usage analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — pages visited, approximate region, device type — so we can improve the games. This data is not tied to your camp account, and Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information.
• We do not run advertising.
• We do not send marketing email without your consent.

Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in to your account, and Google Analytics cookies to measure site usage. You can block analytics cookies with your browser settings or an ad blocker without affecting the games.

Services we rely on

Your data is processed by the following providers, each under their own privacy terms:

• Vercel — website hosting;
• Supabase — authentication and database for camp accounts;
• Resend — delivery of account emails (confirmation, password reset);
• Google Analytics — aggregate usage measurement;
• Google — sign-in, only if you choose “Continue with Google”.

Retention & deletion

We keep account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account — and everything attached to it — by writing to us at [email protected]. Guest progress lives only on your device and is yours to clear at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you. We answer at [email protected]. We operate from Quebec, Canada, and honour the rights granted by applicable privacy laws, including Canada’s PIPEDA and Quebec’s Law 25.

Children

Outdoorsdle is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Meaningful changes will be announced on the site.
