What each column tells you
- Family
- The scientific family — sunfish, pike, trout and so on.
- Water
- Freshwater, saltwater, or both. “Both” overlaps, so it shows gold.
- Shape
- Body silhouette you can spot in the photo: streamlined, long & slender, or round & deep.
- Region
- Where in North America the fish is mainly found.
- Size
- Length class from Small to Trophy. An arrow points to a bigger or smaller fish; a neighbouring class shows gold.
- Weight
- Typical max weight. The arrow points toward the mystery fish’s weight.
- Diet
- What it eats — carnivore, insectivore, or omnivore.
